Crossroads C&I distributes Covertech R-Foil insulation products which consist of two layers of bubble material laminated between layers of aluminum foil to provide excellent thermal resistance. The bubble contains an air retention layer designed to provide increased strength and puncture resistance.
Insulation is used to either contain heat for maintaining warmth, or to resist heat for maintaining cold. In many applications, radiation is the dominant mode of heat transfer. Crossroads C&I bubble insulation is considerably more effective than conventional insulations in reducing radiant heat transfer.
Crossroads C&I bubble insulation reflects up to 95-97% of radiant energy in addition to resisting other types of heat transfer thus providing effective insulation. Bubble insulation is an excellent vapor barrier and it's important to remember to butt all edges next to each other during installation and tape all seams to ensure an air tight vapor barrier.

Rigid polyurethane foam distributed by Crossroads C&I has been used for the insulation and protection of pipes for more than 30 years. It is now more widely used than ever, increasingly displacing alternative materials. One of the most popular areas of use is for district heating systems, where it is the insulant of first choice for many specifiers. Other common uses are in:
- On and offshore oil and gas pipelines
- Heating and plumbing services for power stations, chemical plants and refineries
- Dairy industry applications
- District cooling systems
- Special applications i.e. swimming pool pipelines
Polyurethane foam's popularity is based on its outstanding insulation properties, which prevent heat loss, or alternatively maintain temperatures in cold environments to prevent freezing or cracking. These energy conservation qualities improve the overall cost efficiency of customers' networks.Other important characteristics include high mechanical strength, adhesion, flexibility and good flow-ability, necessary for the consistent fill and insulation of pipe sections.
It is a material with a proven track record for reliability, durability and efficiency. Versatility is demonstrated by the ability to insulate over an extremely wide range of temperatures, from the extreme cold of -196°C to the intense heat of more than 150°C.

FOAMGLAS® insulation, as fabricated by Crossroads C&I, earns an excellent rating in its overall performance assessment. Due to its unique combination of physical characteristics, which provide safety, durability, sustainability, and long term economic benefits, FOAMGLAS® insulation is the preferred insulating material for industrial construction.
The inorganic safety insulation material FOAMGLAS® insulation, which is composed of millions of completely sealed glass cells, has stood the test of time in applications for decades. This all-glass, closed-cell structure provides an unmatched combination of physical properties ideal for piping and equipment above the ground, as well as underground, indoors at operating temperatures from -268°C to +482°C (-450° F to +900°F):
- Resistant to water in both liquid and vapor form
- Noncorrosive
- Noncombustible/nonabsorbent of combustible liquids
- Resistant to most industrial reagents
- Dimensionally stable under a variety of temperature & humidity conditions
- Superior compressive strength
- Resistant to vermin, microbes and mold
- Fiber, CFC and HCFC free
FOAMGLAS® insulation is manufactured only from crushed glass and carbon, is free from fibers, CFC and HCFC and is environmentally sound. With its constant, and long-term energy efficiency, FOAMGLAS® cellular glass insulation provides low, predictable energy costs. At Crossroads C&I we can custom fabricate your FOAMGLAS® requirements.
